Based in middle of the Egyptian dessert, the High Dam is one of the largest embankment dams in the world. Built in 1960s, it contains more than 18 times more material as compared to the Great Pyramid of Cheops. Also called as Saad el Aali in Arabic, the dam currently provides irrigation facility and generates electricity for the whole Egypt. Explore the magnificent views of the Nile River along with the view of Lake Nassar, the huge reservoir associated with the dam. You can also visit the Kalabsha Temple to the south of the dam.
