Installed in the Company Gardens, South African National Gallery is one of South Africa's premier art museum housing collections of African, South African, Dutch, French, British and Flemish art in South Africa. Thomas Butterworth Bayley was the first artist to display his 45 paintings in the museum. The museum now boasts paintings, sculptures, photography, architecture, works on paper, textiles and bead work dating from colonial to modern era.
