Description:

Opened in 1981, the Capital Museum houses large collections of bygone era and is the second largest museum after the National Museum of China in terms of size. Around 6,000 items are on display in the museum and the collections focus on bronze, calligraphy, painting, sculpture and jade. Buddhist statues from imperial China and some of the other Asian culture are featured in the museum.
