Being a comprehensive history museum, the Guangzhou Museum was established in 1929 and features various historical data and cultural relics. Main motive of the museum is to collect and preserve various artifacts and relics related to the history of Guangzhou city. It has two main exhibition areas namely Sea Guard Tower featuring historical relics and second is the Art gallery housing exquisite local craftworks.
