A list-topper for history buffs, Hong Kong Museum of History is based in Kowloon that houses the city's cultural and historical heritage. The museum has managed to include complete history of the city by squeezing it into one 7,000 square meter space from the cosmological beginnings, through the prehistoric times, imperial dynastic rule, the Japanese occupation, British rule, up until the present. The museum also hosts different themed exhibitions regularly at different times.
