Opened to the public in 1998, the museum features exquisite Islamic artworks. Located in heart of the city of Kuala Lumpur, there are 12 main internal galleries in the museum, each featuring different aspects of Islamic art and culture. A special gallery is dedicated to Quran and other manuscripts. Moreover, Islamic architecture gallery, India gallery and Chinese gallery are other galleries the museum comprises of. Islamic jewelry, textile, arms and armor, ceramics as well as ancient Islamic glass ware are specialties of the museum.
