Also known as the Palace of Culture, Istana Budaya is recognized as Malaysia's main venue for all kind of theatre performances like musical, operetta, classical and opera. Located next to the National Art Gallery, it was founded in 1999 and it aims to elevate the standards of performing arts in Kuala Lumpur. Apart from its functional parameters, it is housed in a magnificent eye-catching architecture which is designed by a local architect named Muhammad Kamar Ya'akub.
