Built in 1965, Masjid Negara is unique mosque which incorporates Malay-Islamic rather than the usual Arabic-Islamic architecture. It is known for its conspicuous turquoise umbrella-like roof and it holds a capacity of over 15,000 people, having a total area of 13 acres. Though only Muslims are allowed inside during the Islamic prayer timings, the non-Muslims are welcomed all time apart from the prayer timings. The 72 meters high minarets and 16-pointed star main roof and are key features of the mosques which are worth catching a glimpse.
