Being one of the top museums in Malaysia, the museum is housed in Malay palace, a traditional Malay architecture. The museum was established in 1963 and depicts the rich culture and historical heritage of Malaysia. It is divided into four different galleries, each depicting variable aspects of culture and history. The galleries are namely Early History Gallery, Malay Kingdoms Gallery, Colonial Era Gallery and Malaysia Today Gallery.
