City: Malacca
Description:

Built on the ruins of a fort which belongs to the Portuguese, this 17th-century historic building in the heart of Malacca Town, is one of the oldest Dutch buildings in the East that displays all the common features of the Dutch colonial architecture. In front of the Stadthuys is the Clock Tower, Queen Victoria's Fountain, and nearby is the famous Christ Church. This area is one of the most famous landmarks in Malacca, but the history of Stadhuys remains somewhat of a mystery.
