One of the oldest bridges in Singapore, Cavenagh Bridge spans the lower reaches of Singapore River in the Downtown Core. Named after Major General Orfeur Cavenagh, governor of the Straits Settlements from 1859 to 1867, the bridge today provides the most convenient pedestrian link between the cultural district at the north bank and the commercial district to the south of the Singapore River. Explore the numerous sculpture works near the bridge along with a family of Singapura cats considered to be one of the smallest breeds of cats in the world.
