Established in 1826, Jamae Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in Singapore. This mosque is also known as Big Mosque, Maideen Mosque and Chulia Mosque in the city. Jamae Mosque was declared as a national monument in 1974. It consists of a covered foyer, the ancillary prayer hall, a shrine and the main prayer hall. The mosque has been built in electic style while the shrine and prayer halls are in the Neo-Classical style.
