Built during the reign of King Taksin in 1770, Santa Cruz Church is one of the old Catholic churches in Bangkok. Nestled among old houses on the river banks, the reddish dome of Santa Cruz Church is a prominent landmark on the Chao Phraya River. The walls of the church are decorated with stained glass biblical images and there are some sculptures depicting scenes from Jesus’s life.
