Gülhane Parkı is one of the oldest park in Istanbul based between the Topkapi Palace and Sarayburnu and was once a part of the Topkapi Palace grounds. Features like wide paths covered with the tree shades along with some water scenes, flower beds and grassy areas make it relaxing escape from the nearby bustle of Sultanahmet. Other highlights of the park include variety of statues like Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, one of the Turkish Republic's founder and Roman Goth’s Column representing a Roman victory over the Goths.
