Being one of the three famous visual arts museums in South Australia, the art gallery is housed in a magnificent building which has a collection of around 40,000 artworks. Having such huge amount of artworks, it is the second largest art gallery in Australia. Comprehensive collections of Australian, European and Asian art are featured in the gallery and likewise, imperative collections of 19th century Australian paintings and Aboriginal artworks.
