Named after Captain Charles Bayley’s favorite ship, Runnymede is a rare 19th century whaling family villa set in elegant gardens with easy access from Hobart's central business district. The villa highlights the colonial life in 19th century but offers a beautiful setting for weddings, cocktail parties and other functions. Highlights include rich collection of materials related to maritime and whaling interests of the family and artworks and family possessions of the former owner Bishop Francis Nixon, first Anglican Bishop of Tasmania.
