City: Perth
Description:

Built in 1866, the Barracks Arch is one of Perth's iconic historic buildings. This building was originally known as Pensioner Barracks. It was built to house a special force of soldiers called as Pensioner Guard. Two wings of the barrack were demolished in 1966 to make way for the Mitchell Freeway; but the Barracks Arch was saved.
