Formerly known as Geological Museum, the Western Australian Museum was established in 1891 and was given its present name in 1897. Housing geological, ethnological and biological exhibits, the museum provides an insight of the state's natural history as well as cultural heritage. Moreover, the museum has its own edition of books which narrate the story of social and cultural history.
