City: Sydney
Description:

This is a railway viaduct at Lapstone Hill, and was built in 1867 by John Whitton, the father of the NSW railways. The viaduct is probably the most impressive structure of its type which is highly articulate about the technical challenges involved in the construction of the rail across the Blue Mountains and the level of achievement embodied in Whitton’s design.
