The Szu Yup Temple has been a spiritual and cultural centre for the Chinese community in Sydney for more than a decade. Dedicated to Kwan Ti, a third century Chinese folk hero, the temple has been burnt twice and restored, and in 1982 an archway was added to the temple complex with two stone lions guarding the huge entrance. Even after 100 years, this temple remains a sacred place to the Chinese community.
