Te Henga or Bethells Beach is another beach in the Waitakere Ranges well worth a visit. The beach is approximately 30 kilometers north-west of Auckland City, at the mouth of the Waitakere River where it flows into the Tasman Sea. Here, you can find Lake Wainamu, a popular swimming spot away from the rough west coast beaches.
