Description:

The Summit Road provides easy access to the Port Hills which lies between Christchurch and Lyttelton port. This Road was constructed by Harry G Eli who envisioned of building a road for travelers between Akaroa Harbor and Godley Head. There are various historic landmarks along the way like the Sign of the Takeha, the Sign of the Kiwi and the Sign of the Bellbird. In addition to driving, cycling and walking, this road is also used for exploring the mountain bike trails and walkways which are easily accessible from the road.
