This church dates from the 14th century and is one of the older parts of the Hofburg which hosted royal burials and weddings, and served as the departure point for jubilee processions and pilgrimages. The vaulted ceiling testifies to its Gothic origins, and the stone high altar is neo-Gothic, dating from 1870. Although inconspicuous from the outside, the inside is more ornate.
