The Belvedere is a magnificent historic building complex in Vienna, with two Baroque palaces facing each other on a sloping hill. Between the palaces is a formal French garden with water basins, fountains, statues and cascades. The palace complex was initially built as a summer residence for Prince Eugene of Savoy, and designed by court architect Johann Lukas Von Hilderbrandt. The complex also houses the Belvedere Museum.
