City: Prague
Description:

The Klausen Synagogue is the largest synagogue in the Jewish Quarter. Klausen was originally the name of the three smaller buildings which Mordechai Maisel, Head of the Prague Jewish Community, had erected in honor of a visit from Emperoe Maxmilian II to the Prague Ghetto in 1573, hence the name Klausen Synagogue.
