Prague's main burial ground once had as many as two million burials during the plague epidemic. It is the largest graveyard in Prague, particularly noted for its many remarkable art nouveau monuments. The oldest gravestones can be found in the northwest corner of the cemetery, near the 17th-century Chapel of St Roch.
