Tsar Peter the Great Monument, located at the waterfront adjacent to Deptford Creek, was erected in 2001 to commemorate the Tsar's visit to Europe. Tsar Peter lived near the Royal Dockyard in Deptford, at the home of the writer John Evelyn, while studying new developments in technology.
