Jardin des Plantes is based on the left bank of River Seine in the 5th arrondissement and is home to gardens, greenhouses, play area, refreshment areas and exhibits. Popular as a botanical garden, it possesses over 10,000 species along with rose, Alpine and winter gardens that make it an enchanting place. The garden also houses a small zoo in the northern section which is the oldest zoo founded in 1795 where children can spend some fun time.
