Designed by Charles Girault, Musée du Petit Palais was built for Universal Exhibition in 1900 and became a museum in 1902 is based in the 8th arrondissement. The museum also houses the Musée des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris or Paris Museum of Fine Arts. The displays feature diverse collection of artifacts including the paintings from Matisse,Picasso, Modigliani and many more and sculptures. The art works include the ancient Greece, French Impressionism, the symbolist works of Odilon Redon and Art Nouveau ceramics.
