The EKO-House, since 1993 has been a center for Japanese culture which consists of a Buddhist temple, the only Japanese temple in Europe, and Japanese Gardens, a traditional house with tea room. For a city whose Japanese presence is among the largest in Europe, the choice of Dusseldorf as the cultural center was not a surprise.
