City: Dusseldorf
Description:

This is a small lane in the center of the old town, which was named after a cunning dressmaker, Wibbel who opposed Napoleon for which he was sent to jail, but instead of himself, he sent his assistant under the name of Wibbel, who later died in jail, leading everyone to believe Wibbel was dead. After the end of the French occupation, Wibbel disclosed his identity to become a local hero. Every day, locals and tourists gather in front of the Wibbel-Play-Watch (with mechanical figures) which re-enact the story of Wibbel.
