City: Munich
Description:

The Church of Our Lady (or Frauenkirche) is the landmark of Munich and the city's largest church that serves as the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising and seat of its Archbishop. It was built in 1494 in late Gothic style architecture, making it different from all other contemporary churches in its plain brick simplicity. The Church is topped by two copper onion-domed towers recognizable from a distance. Its interior was designed to hold a congregation of 20,000, despite the city only had about 13,000 inhabitants at the end of the 15th century.
