City: Munich
Description:

Built in 1180, St. Peter's Church (or Peterskirche) is the oldest church in the city of Munich, which despite of its turbulent and interesting past is still a favorite tourist attraction and is highly admired by locals as well. It is basically a Roman Catholic establishment with interior featuring the magnificent Mariahilf-Altar, Gothic paintings and sculptures, and a ceiling fresco by Johann Baptist Zimmermann.
