Being an important museum of its kind, the extensive collections of the museum are collected by Medici Grand Duke. Over 300,000 examples of animal and vegetable fossils are featured in the museum, along with numerous rock specimens. Likewise, most of the collections are in other words the donations and recent discoveries. Whilst, an entire room is dedicated to evolution of horses, featuring endless facts related to horses. Wide array of invertebrates as well as showcased in the museum, giving the visitors an idea of their lifecycle. Guided tours and sessions are carried out in the museum, explaining the geological and paleontological facts.
