Also known as Giardino dei Semplici, the garden dates back to year 1545 and served as a source of medicine for the Medici family at that time. Containing wide array of medicinal plants, various other plants like Tuscan species, wild flowers, etc. are found in the park. Having an area of over 2 acres, the park is full of citrus blossoms, wild growing plants and trees of great height. The word 'Semplici' stands for raw ingredients which were used in 16th century for medicines. The park is 3rd oldest park in entire Europe, cultivating medicinal plants and has about 9.000 specimens of medicinal and wild plants.
