It is the largest hill in Rome, with sweeping views of the Vatican and Rome across the Tiber. The Monte Mario hill was also known as Clivus Cinnae or Mons Vaticanus in Roman times. This hill is somewhat off the beaten trail for many visitors but the gleaming vision of the whole city which shouldn’t be missed when you are in Rome.
