The Porta San Paolo is a gateway stands next door to the Pyramid and this fine gate in the Aurelian Wall is named after St. Paul as the Via Ostiense leads to the basilica of St. Paul's Outside the Walls. The Porta San Paolo was built by the Ruler Aurelius in the third century to protect in opposition to the Barbarians.
