Belfast Central Library is situated at Royal Ave. Opposite the road from the Cathedral, the Victorian library building houses an excellent Irish section and a newspaper library, containing archives of all Northern Irish newspapers. This public library was opened in 1888 and it was one of the former big libraries in Ireland.
