Though a small museum, but one of Northern Ireland’s most visited; it exhibits the natural and built heritage of the Borough. North Down Museum is located around a covered courtyard at the rear of Bangor Castle. Discover the area’s fascinating history and find out how the monks met their fate at the hands of the Vikings. The museum also hosts an array of events ranging from exhibitions, workshops to talks and musical concerts. It tells the story of the North Down area from the Bronze Age to the present day through a series of rooms with each room devoted to a particular era of history.
