Saint Basil's Cathedral (Cathedral of the Protection of Most Holy Theotokos on the Moat, ????? ??????? ????????? ??????????), Kitay-gorod, Red Square (in the south part of Red Square, M: Ploshchad Revolyutsii). 11.00 – 18.00 (last entry 17.30). Built from 1555–61 on orders from Ivan the Terrible and commemorates the capture of Kazan and Astrakhan. - The original building contained eight side churches arranged around the ninth, central church of Intercession; the tenth church was erected in 1588 over the grave of venerated local saint Vasily (Basil). Inside is a museum, although it looks best from the outside, but if you have the time, take a peek inside. 350 rubles.
