Póvoa Fortress is popularly known as The Fortaleza de Nossa Senhora da Conceição in Portuguese. Traditionally the fort was known as the Castle Póvoa, situated in the Póvoa de Varzim city in Portugal. Póvoa Fortress was built to protect the town from pirate attacks in 17^th century.
