It's a symbolic place in the history of the Italian community in Canada and for more than a generation, has been a part of the architectural heritage of Quebec. Several elements of classical architecture were incorporated into its construction, including an 15th century entrance porch, twin windows from 14th century and a Baroque fireplace from the 17th century.
