Opened to the public in 1876, Mount Royal Park occupies part of Mount Royal. The park is an ideal site for admiring varieties of birds and plants as well as enjoying outdoor activities. It features Beaver Lake, a short ski slope, a small man-made lake, cross-country skiing trails, a sculpture garden and Smith House. In summer time, Mount Royal hosts a popular activity called as "Tam Tam Jam", in which the visitors play hand drums.
