City: Mazatlan
Description:

Located on Republic Square, the Basílica de la Inmaculada Concepción was opened in 1899. It's an excellent combination of Moorish and Gothic architecture which makes it well worth a visit. There are white sculptures of St. Mark, St. John, St. Luke and St. Matthew at the entrances. The towers and outer dome of the cathedral are covered with European tiles. You can also see the Star of David in the windows of this cathedral. There are gold leaf decorated murals, baroque altars, religious sculptures and crystal chandeliers inside the cathedral.
