Housing extensive historic collections, the Nevada State Museum works on enhancement of the history understanding among people. Moreover, not only the history, but pre-history and natural history of Nevada is also featured in the museum. Housed in a 70,000 square-foot building, some of the permanent historic collections occupy first floor of the building. Second floor consists of exhibit gallery where temporary exhibitions are held. Moreover, a research gallery and lecture room is present on the second floor.
