Housed in the 1823 Creole townhouse and apothecary of Louis Dufilho, America's first licensed pharmacist, New Orleans Pharmacy Museum represents the history of pharmacy and healthcare in Louisiana. The museum houses medical instruments, apothecary jars containing their original ingredients, black leather physician's bags, old wheel chairs, eye glasses, surgical tools and optical prosthetic devices. Other highlights of the museum include voodoo potions, soda fountain and pharmacist's work area where visitors can learn about the role of pharmacist.
