The Cabildo, based at the Jackson Square, is a history museum that long served as the seat of the municipal government during the Spanish colonial period. The museum exhibits collections highlighting the Native Americans through many fascinating illustrations and artifacts. The collections include exquisite engravings of nature artist John James Audubon, portraits of famous Louisiana figures along with many other interactive displays illustrating the story of Louisiana.
