It is New York City’s living history and museum complex, where visitors can explore the diversity of the American experience, through the lives of ordinary people, who struggled, survived and thrived from Colonial Period to the present. It was once a county seat and commercial center for business and government on Staten Island. The village comprises over 30 historic buildings and sites dating from the late 17th to the early 20th century.
