Description: This 1,146-acre park, covering the ridges and valleys of the Northwest Bronx, is the fourth largest park in New York City and it contains the city's largest freshwater lake. The park was named for Stephanus Van Cortlandt, the first native-born mayor of New York and the Van Cortlandt family. It is also home to the country's first golf course and the oldest house in the Bronx.
