City: San Diego

Located within the San Diego city limits on the cliffs above Torrey Pines State Beach, this magnificent park is a 1,700 acre nature reserve dedicated to preserving its Torrey Pine trees and other indigenous wildlife in its native environment. It is one of the wildest stretches of land on Southern California coast, which is home to approximately 3,000 of nation's rarest pine tree - Pinus torreyana. Visitors can either go hiking up to an overlook of the Pacific Ocean, walk a peaceful trail, take a stroll on the beach or watch the birds in the lagoon.
